We are pleased to share with you exciting news from the project and some interesting events happening in the soil community. 

 

At CURIOSOIL, we launched the “Why I Teach Soil” campaign to raise awareness about soil health and promote soil literacy among teachers, head teachers and students. The campaign offers free educational content and practical ideas to bring soil science into the classroom in an engaging way. More updates and events will be coming soon.

 

Final 2024 CURIOSOIL CoP Session

The final CURIOSOIL Community of Practice (CoP) session for 2024, led by Abdul Otman, Coordinator of the CURIOSOIL CoP initiative, marked a culmination of the year’s collaborative efforts. This session highlighted the project’s milestones, engagement strategies, and opportunities for participants to deepen their involvement in the CoP framework.

 

Bringing together soil educators, scientists and policy advocates across Europe, the CURIOSOIL CoP fosters soil literacy through innovative tools and collaboration.

More than 60% of soil ecosystems in Europe are threatened by degradation. CURIOSOIL seeks to address this crisis by increasing soil literacy through collaborative efforts in education. CURIOSOIL focuses on improving soil education and addresses the critical need for a better understanding of soil in the face of increasing human pressure on this essential resource.
